This is the last day of summer pride and I am happy as can be!! Today we went to the gym and had a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. I had fun but I didn’t win the championship so it wasn’t as fun as it could’ve been. We also had a speaker that talked about drugs and other things like that.
I’m happy but I still got to wake up early for 2 more weeks because I’m going to Langston to be student counselor for a learning camp that I was a student in last year. The good thing about it is that I get a check at the end of it so that’s a plus also.

Today wasn’t to bad. We just did on-the-field running. The coaches are trying to get us ready for testing next week. Testing is when we time our 40′s, bench press; power clean, 300 yard shuttle, agility, vertical, etc. I’m ready for that because I know I have been working hard and know I will do well.

Today we did plio circuit again, but instead of doing five we had to do six. I about died on the 3rd one but after the half-way mark it wasn’t that bad. Our last passing league is today at OUR HOUSE. Jenks, Union, Broken Arrow, Owasso, and I think Sapulpa is coming. This is our last time to go out and dominate our opponents before the real thing in Sept. I’m ready. I WAS BORN READY

Today we did hurdles, two 300 meter runs, and ten perfect 20 yard quick starts. It was hard because I was still sore from what we did this weekend in Arkansas. I will probably just go home and chill after we lift and go to individuals.

This weekend all of our football team (besides the linemen) went to Arkansas for an Elite 7 on o7 Passing camp. We stayed in a hotel named Embassy Suites. It was the nicest hotel I have ever seen. The good part is that there was a celebrity golf tournament happening that weekend so famous athletes such as Ladanian Tomlinson, Emmitt Smith, Reggie Bush, Joe Theisman, Joe Montana, Shawn Elliot, Brooks Robinson, John Salley, Marshal Faulk, and others stayed in that same hotel as we were. Some of got to see famous people that others different. There was even a rumor that Lil Wayne was there (which he wasn’t).
Anyways, most of the teams there were from Arkansas but 3 from Oklahoma. It was us, Jenks, and Metro Christian. When we first got to Shiloh Christian we were ready because we had to play Har-Ber and they were supposed to be the champs. Every single one of us was talking about the first game, getting our plays straight to make sure we went out to execute. When we get focused we usually go do what we’re set out to do so we won. We had four 22 min. games scheduled on Friday so we beat Har-Ber, 2 other teams, and lost to Fayetteville. The next day our first game was against Shiloh 2 (JV). We ended up beating them and the next team we played and we needed to win the next game we played to clinch a #2 seed in the playoffs. But we weren’t focused . . . we had a part of our team sitting on the bus and another part somewhere else. We weren’t together . . . and it showed when we played our next game. We lost, and we were embarrassed because no one our team had a great game, probably not even a good game. Still, we had good news because we were tied with Jenks for 3rd seed but ended up actually getting it because of us allowing the least amount of points. So we had a bye in the playoffs. We ended up having to play Fayetteville again which was a 5th, maybe 6th seed. We were excited to play them because we had to get our revenge. Our first loss was to them so we had to redeem ourselves. We came out pumped up and ready to play. We was on offense first, we got stopped. So defense came out and we got scored on . . . we scored every once in a while but that was basically the pattern of the entire 20 minutes we played. The playoffs were single elimination so we were done. We packed up and left.

This morning we didn’t do anything too hard and I’m glad because I’m really tired. We lifted hard today but that’s always. I have no idea what I’m doing today.

I thought we were doing something fairly easy yesterday because of all the 40′s we ran Monday. . . I was badly mistaken. We ran some type of circuit were we had to run bleachers, do 25 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, ladders, power skips, and jump over hurdles. We had to do that 4 times and it was killing my calves. Then later on that day we went to Union for another passing league. We started out pretty good on offense but didn’t end up too well on our first series. After that we had 3 straight series of 1st team D we went out and did what we had to do to keep them out of the end zone. Our last series of offense was pretty good. We came out ready to score and that’s what we did. I’m glad too because got to go to CiCi’s Pizza afterwards.

Yesterday we had to run 40 perfect 40′s. We ran them by tens, and each ten we ran counted as one quarter. If one person jumped or didn’t run hard, we started that whole set of ten over. The seniors went first, the juniors second, sophomores third, and freshman went last. We got through the first quarter okay. But the second quarter, not so good. The coach started us on the second whistle, and EVERYONE kept jumping off sides. So after starting over about ten times we placed a leader in each group to make sure they didn’t jump. I’m glad to say we finally made it through the second quarter. The second half was pretty easy because we went off of first sound.
When I got home I was too tired, I took a shower, watched TV for a bit, then just went back to my room and took a 3 hour nap. My dad woke me up and told me to eat and cut the grass. But that was my day.

This week really hasn’t been that hard and I’m happy but I’m still tired. It feels like I go to sleep at night and 20 minutes later I’m getting up for summer pride. It’s not like I go to sleep late, I go to sleep at about 10:00 maybe 10:30 every night.
We have another passing league tomorrow here against about three schools (I can’t remember the names) and I’m just ready to get it over with so I can sleep in that following morning (ha-ha). Seems like I’m doing a lot of complaining doesn’t it?

I’m tired right now so I’m just sitting here writing this and talking to my friend Erik Howell a great linebacker that graduated this past year and Eddie Venters another good linebacker who is becoming a senior. Today wasn’t really hard but I’m still tired so I’ll probably go over my friend’s house to beat his tail in some Madden 09 (ha-ha) then come home and get a quick nap before passing league. Today we have passing league at Jenks and I’m just ready to get it over with to tell the truth. I’m sleepy.
